Set SRDF/A group attributes

SRDF groups provide a collective data transfer path linking volumes of two separate storage systems.

About this task

This operation can be invoked from multiple locations in the Unisphere user interface (Device group > SRDF Group, Device Group > SRDF Pairs, SG All Details > SRDF tab, Protection dashboard) . Depending on where the operation is invoked, some of the steps below may not apply.

Steps

  1. Select a storage system.
  2. Click Protection to view the Protection dashboard and select SRDF from the Protected Storage Groups section of the summary panel.
  3. Select a group, click An icon showing three dots arranged in a vertical row, signifying a menu with more options, and select Asynchronous > Set SRDF/A.
  4. Type the Minimum Cycle Time- the minimum amount of time (in s) the storage system waits before attempting to perform an SRDF/A cycle switch. Possible values range from 1 s to 60 s.
  5. Type the Session Priority- the priority is used to determine which RDF/A session to drop if cache is full. Possible values range from 1 (highest) to 64 (lowest).
  6. Select Transmit Idle Enabled to preserve the data in cache (if the link is idle) and then retry transmitting the data. The option must be enabled on both local and remote sides.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
